The Scientific Committee has published the final scientific advice on Triclocarban and Triclosan as substances with potential endocrine-disrupting properties in cosmetic products. The SCCS adopted this scientific advice during the plenary meeting on 24-25 October 2022.
The SCCS published the preliminary opinion on the hair dye, Sodium Bromothymol blue (C186) with CAS no “34722-90-2”. The deadline for comments was set for 23 December 2022.
In 2019, the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products, published a new requirement related to Phenoxyethanol for leave-on cosmetic products (excluding deodorants, hair, and make-up products) containing Phenoxyethanol. On 13 October 2022, the European Commission started a consultation on the draft amendment of Annex XVII to the REACH Regulation regarding substances recently classified as CMR by the 18th ATP (Adaptation to Technical and Scientific Progress) of the CLP Regulation.
