On 15 November 2023, France launched a call for evidence to support the preparation of the REACH restriction proposal regarding Octocrylene. The data collected will contribute to the development of the Annex XV restriction dossier being prepared by France. The consultation period is open until 10 January 2024.

The Commission requests the SCCS to carry out a safety assessment on ‘Sodium Myristoyl Sarcosinate’ (CAS No. 30364-51-3/ EC No. 250-151-3) as a coating of Titanium Dioxide (nano) for use as a UV filter in dermally applied cosmetic products. The Committee has nine months to deliver its Opinion.
