On 26 April 2023, ECHA published four reports on the assessment of regulatory needs for four substance groups. Interestingly, three groups include substances used in cosmetic products.
On 17-18 April 2023, the SCCS meeting of the Working Group (WG) on cosmetic ingredients in cosmetic products was held.
On 28 April 2023, the United Kingdom (UK) notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a draft amendment to the Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009, as applicable in Great Britain (i.e., England, Wales, and Scotland). Permitted levels of certain chemicals in the Cosmetics Regulation are amended.
On 24 April 2023, the SCCS published the preliminary opinion on Fullerenes, Hydroxylated Fullerenes, and hydrated forms of Hydroxylated Fullerenes (nano), with CAS/EC No. 99685-96-8/628-630-7, 11538-22-7/-, 182024-48 42-6/-. The deadline for comments was set for 12 June 2023.
