On 5 December 2023, the SCCS published the preliminary scientific advice on the safety of Titanium dioxide (TiO2) with CAS/EC numbers (13463-67-7/236-675-5, 1317-70-0/215-280-1, 1317-80-2/215-282-2) with a focus on genotoxicity and exposure via the inhalation and oral route in cosmetic products. On 15 November 2023, France launched a call for evidence to support the preparation of the REACH restriction proposal regarding Octocrylene.
