The Commission requests the SCCS to carry out a safety assessment on Hydroxyapatite (nano) in response to the industry’s submission of evidence. In particular, following a regulatory proposal by the Commission services to restrict the use of Hydroxyapatite (nano) in cosmetics, the industry submitted evidence to demonstrate its safety at higher concentrations in oral products. The Committee has nine months to deliver its Opinion.
