The Scientific Committee has published the preliminary scientific advice on Triclocarban and Triclosan as substances with potential endocrine-disrupting properties in cosmetic products. The SCCS adopted this scientific advice at its plenary meeting on 15-16 March 2022.
The European Commission has published the draft document for the 18th Adaptation to Technical Progress (ATP) to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 on the classification, labelling, and packaging of substances and mixtures (the CLP Regulation).
On 11 February 2022, European Commission notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a draft Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 referring to the ban of 12 nanomaterials for which the SCCS has identified a high concern. There is a new requirement for products sold in France, which mandates the display of the Triman Logo, and sorting information on household packages. All packages should bear this label regardless of their recyclability. Cosmetic products fall under this requirement.
