The European Commission has issued a call for data on the safety of Cannabidiol (CBD) in cosmetic products, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
On 16 May 2023, the SCCS published the preliminary scientific advice on the safety of children’s exposure to Methyl Salicylate (methyl 2-hydroxybenzoate, CAS/EC No. 119-36-8/204-317-7) as used in cosmetic products. The deadline for comments was set for 19 June 2023.
On 24 April 2023, the SCCS meeting of the Working Group (WG) on nanomaterials in cosmetic products was held.
On 26 April 2023, ECHA published four reports on the assessment of regulatory needs for four substance groups. Interestingly, three groups include substances used in cosmetic products.
