On 7 February 2023, the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) published the details of the proposed restriction of around 10 000 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs). ECHA published three intentions and proposals for harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) for substances that can be used in cosmetics: Talc, Dimethyl Imidazolidinone, and Potassium Bromide. If the classification process is completed, the use of some of these substances in cosmetic products may be threatened.
