On 29 January 2024, the Council and the European Parliament’s negotiators today reached a provisional political agreement on a proposal to review the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive. The revised directive is one of the key deliverables under the EU’s zero-pollution action plan.

On 20 December 2023, Sweden submitted an intention to the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) for the Harmonised Classification and Labeling (CLH) of 12 strontium compounds, some of which are cosmetic ingredients, as reproductive toxicants.
On 5 January 2024, the European Commission published the 21st Adaptation to Technical Progress (ATP) to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 on the classification, labelling, and packaging of substances and mixtures (the CLP Regulation).
