Updated glossary of cosmetic ingredients
On 29 April 2022, the European Commission published in the Official Journal of the European Union, the Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/677, including the new glossary of common ingredient names for use in the labelling of cosmetic products. Aluminium: Request for SCCS opinion (Submission III)
Based on the SCCS Opinion “SCCS/1613/19” (and its addendum “SCCS/1626/20”) on the safety of aluminium in cosmetic products (including deodorants and antiperspirants, toothpaste, and lipsticks), the European Commission asked the Scientific Committee to assess other types of products, considering also the aggregate exposure to this substance.

The upcoming ban on 12 nanomaterials
On 11 February 2022, European Commission notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a draft Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 referring to the ban of 12 nanomaterials for which the SCCS has identified a high concern.
