On 3 and 4 October 2022, the SCCS meeting of the Working Group (WG) on cosmetic ingredients in cosmetic products was held.
The Scientific Committee has published its final Opinion on Genistein and Daidzein. It was adopted by written procedure on 16 September 2022.
On 20 September 2022, the European Commission started a public consultation on a draft act that would introduce new hazard classes as part of its revision to the CLP Regulation on classification, labelling, and packaging of substances. The consultation is open until 18 October.
On 15 September 2022, the European Commission notified the WTO of a new amendment to the Cosmetic Regulation. The publication is amending Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and the Council as regards labelling of fragrance allergens in cosmetic products.
The European Commission has asked the Scientific Committee to assess the safety of the hair dye Hydroxypropyl p-phenylenediamine and its dihydrochloride salt (A165) (CAS/EC No. 73793-79-0/827-723-1 and 1928659-47-5/-) in cosmetic products. On 7 and 8 September 2022, the SCCS meeting of the Working Group (WG) on cosmetic ingredients in cosmetic products was held.
On 15 September 2022, the European Commission published the “CMR Omnibus V”, formally EU Regulation 2022/1531, which is based on the 17th ATP (Adaptation to Technical Progress) of the CLP chemicals legislation.
For a period of five years until 31 December 2025: the name, address, and country of origin requirements are satisfied if there is compliance with the requirements of Article 19(1)(a) of the EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009.
