Chlorhexidine: French ANSM warns of the risk of allergic reactions
On 30 November 2023, the French National Agency for Safety and Health Products (ANSM) issued a press release cautioning consumers about the risk of allergic reactions upon contact with Chlorhexidine. This substance is included in Annex V, which pertains to authorized preservatives under Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009.

Cosmetics Europe and IFRA welcome the agreement on the CLP revision

Titanium dioxide (TiO2): Preliminary scientific advice
On 5 December 2023, the SCCS published the preliminary scientific advice on the safety of Titanium dioxide (TiO2) with CAS/EC numbers (13463-67-7/236-675-5, 1317-70-0/215-280-1, 1317-80-2/215-282-2) with a focus on genotoxicity and exposure via the inhalation and oral route in cosmetic products. The deadline for comments was set for 6 February 2024.
