In the light of new data released by the European Commission following a request for access to information, Cosmetics Europe re-affirms that the revised Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (UWWTD) manifestly overestimates the contribution of cosmetics to the toxic load in urban wastewater by at least 15 times.
