On 26 July 2024, the SCCS published the final opinion on the safety of Triphenyl Phosphate (CAS No.204-112-2, EC No.115-86-6).
The Commission requests the SCCS to carry out a safety assessment on Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (EHMC) (CAS No. 5466- 77-3/83834-59-7, EC No. 226-775-7/629-661-9). The Committee has nine months to deliver its Opinion.

On 15 December 2022, the SCCS published the preliminary opinion on Salicylic Acid with CAS no “69-72-7”. The deadline for comments was set for 17 February 2023.
ECHA has updated the list of the substances included in the Community rolling action plan (CoRAP) for the years 2022-2024. Interestingly, 9 out of 27 substances included in the CoRAP process, are authorized ingredients that can be used in cosmetic products, while one substance is prohibited in cosmetics.
Considering the concerns related to potential endocrine-disrupting properties of “Salicylic Acid” the European Commission has asked the Scientific Committee to assess its safety in cosmetic products. On 3 February 2022, this mandate has been accepted by the SCCS and the Committee has nine months to deliver its Opinion.
