On 23 April 2024, the European Parliament plenary session formally adopted a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for setting ecodesign requirements for sustainable products and repealing Directive 2009/125/EC.

On 24 April 2024, Cosmetics Europe welcomes the formal adoption of the provisional agreement on the revision of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) by the European Parliament. However, Cosmetics Europe remains concerned about some of the elements of the agreement.
On 24 April 2024, Parliament adopted new measures to make packaging more sustainable and reduce packaging waste in the EU. The council needs to formally approve the agreement as well before it can enter into force.
On 3 April 2024, Regulation (EU) 2024/996 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union amending Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 regarding the use of Vitamin A compounds, Arbutin, Alpha-Arbutin, Triclosan, Triclocarban, Kojic Acid, Daidzein, Genistein, and 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor.
