On 22 June 2023, the European Commission notified the WTO of a draft amendment to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, known as REACH Regulation. The publication is amending Annex XVII as regards Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4), Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5), as well as Dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane (D6). To this end, the use of these substances in leave-on and wash-off cosmetic products as well as other consumer and professional products is subject to restrictions.
