Call for urgent action to address harmful chemicals in consumer products including cosmetics

On 10 October 2023, the organisation of European consumer associations, commonly referred to as BEUC, published a compilation of the results of tests recently carried out by its members. BEUC finds that many harmful chemicals are present in everyday consumer products, and thus calls on the EU to urgently reduce people’s exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), endocrine disruptors, and other chemicals of concern.
