On 8 June 2023, the European Commission published an amendment of Annex XVII to the REACH Regulation regarding substances recently classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or reproductive toxicant (CMR) by the 18th ATP (Adaptation to Technical and Scientific Progress) of the CLP Regulation. Specifically, the new amendment formally adds a number of substances classified as CMR, categories 1A or 1B, to the list of substances that are restricted in consumer products.
