On 19 December 2022, the European Commission proposed a revised Regulation on the classification, labelling and packaging of chemicals (CLP) and introduced new hazard classes for endocrine disruptors and other harmful chemical substances to better protect people and the environment from hazardous chemicals.
For seven years until 31 December 2027, the name, address, and country of origin requirements are satisfied if there is compliance with Article 19(1)(a) of the EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009.

The European Commission has asked the Scientific Committee to assess the safety of children’s exposure to Methyl Salicylate (methyl 2-hydroxybenzoate, CAS/EC No. 119-36-8/204-317-7) as used in cosmetic products. The SCCS approved this mandate by written procedure on 20 December 2022, and the Committee has three months to deliver its Opinion.
On 13 December 2022, ECHA published the draft list of the substances included in the Community rolling action plan (CoRAP) for the years 2023-2025.
