On 31 July 2023, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) announced its intention to introduce legislation to extend indefinitely the recognition of the CE marking and reversed epsilon marking for most products, including cosmetic aerosols, placed on the market in Great Britain (GB) (England, Scotland, and Wales).
