France’s intention to restrict Octocrylene: Preparing a regulatory proposal

On 11 October 2023, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published France’s intention to prepare a restriction dossier introducing restrictions on the placing on the market of mixtures containing Octocrylene, under the REACH regulation . Octocrylene is a UV filter used in sunscreen products and other cosmetics. During the preparation of the restriction proposal stakeholders have one year to provide relevant information justifying derogations from the restriction.
