On 25 September 2023, the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) started the consultation on harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) of the chelating agents, Sodium EDTMP and Potassium EDTMP used in cosmetics. The proposal was submitted by Germany, and ECHA has launched the consultation, which will remain open until 24 November 2023. If the classification process is completed, the use of these cosmetic substances may be at risk.
