Council adopts amendments on the proposed Directive to “empower consumers for the green transition”

On 3 May 2023, the Council adopted its position on the proposed directive aimed at improving product labelling, durability, and eliminating misleading claims. The directive, known as the “empowering consumers for the green transition,” received overwhelming approval from the plenary, with 544 votes in favor, 18 against, and 17 abstentions.
