In September 2023, ECHA initiated a public consultation on a dossier prepared in accordance with the requirements outlined in Annex XV of REACH. On 14 June 2023, ECHA added two new chemicals to the Candidate List. One of these two substances is a cosmetic ingredient, used in limited concentration in artificial nail systems.

The Swedish Chemicals Agency inspected electronics and summer items such as bathing suits, beach mattresses, and garden items. High levels of hazardous substances have been found in many of these products. Most of them were coming from online stores.
