The consultation on the proposed restriction of approximately 10,000 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) submitted by five national authorities in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden, which opened on 22 March 2023, has recently concluded. PFAS have a wide range of uses in, among others, various cosmetic products, such as emulsifiers, antistatic agents, stabilizers, skin conditioners, binders, and viscosity regulators.
