On 22 September 2023, the SCCS published the final scientific advice on the safety of children’s exposure to Methyl Salicylate (methyl 2-hydroxybenzoate, CAS/EC No. 119-36-8/204-317-7) as used in cosmetic products. The SCCS adopted this document by written procedure on 14 September 2023.

On 23 January 2025, the SCCS published the final scientific advice on the safety of HC Red No. 18 (CAS No. 1444596-49-9) in cosmetic products.
On 19 December 2024, the SCCS published the final addendum to the scientific opinion on the safety of Hexyl Salicylate (CAS no 6259-76-3) in cosmetic products for children below 3 years of age.
On 25 October 2024, the SCCS published the opinion on the safety of the fragrance ingredient Acetylated Vetiver Oil – AVO (CAS No 84082-84-8, EC No 282-031-1) in sprayable cosmetic products.
